The searching will be limited to the filled fields only. Found records will be limited to those matching all the entered conditions concurrently or those matching any of the entered conditions, depending on selected option (below the form).

If you type more than one word in any of the fields, the search engine will find records containing any of them. Example : if you type World atlas in the title field, the search engine will find entries, which have either World or atlas in the title, but the entries containing both of them will be displayed first.

To search only for records containing both words, you should precede them with a plus sign (+). Words preceded by the plus sign (+) are marked as required to appear in the searched field. If we're interested only in world atlasses, but not the other atlasses or books about world, we should type +world +atlas. If we don't precede those words with plus signs, the world atlasses will be still in the results list, however not necessarily at the beginning. If you type the condition quoted, it will be treated as inseparable phrase, which must occurr. For example, if you type "World atlas", only the world atlasses will be found.

Default search is the full-text search, which means that only entries having entered phrase as separate words will be found. Entering the field "plane" when searching with "full-text" option enabled will cause omission of field cointaing "planes", "airplane" or "planet". If you know the exact title, author's surname or other search condition, this option would result in quicker finding the item you are looking for

If you don't know the exact title or author's surname, type the first few letters and add an asterisk (*). Example : If you're looking for books written by Jan Kowalski or Jan Kowalewski or you simply don't remember whole surname, enter first few letter and an asterisk. In this example it would be Kowal*. If you type this phrase there will appear all entries having Kowal as the beginning of any author-field words (precisely the author's first or last name).

Another useful option is omiting entries containing specific word(s). Example : You are looking for books about history but not history of Poland. In this case you should negate the word Poland by preceding it by a minus sign (-). The whole phrase would then look like this : history -Poland
